Wat is een Vitamix? Voor mijn verjaardag heb ik een Vitamix blender gekregen. Dit is een speciale super krachtige blender, waarmee je heel gemakkelijk de meest uiteenlopende ingrediënten kunt verwerken tot gladde sauzen, dips, soepen en smoothies. Doordat de Vitamix zo krachtig is, werkt hij veel sneller dan een reguliere blender of foodprocessor. In enkele seconden kan hij bijvoorbeeld bevroren fruit vermalen tot sorbetijs. Omdat het zo snel gaat hebben de vruchten geen tijd om te ontdooien en kun je het ijs dus meteen eten zonder dat je het eerst nog opnieuw invriest. Het enige nadeel van een Vitamix is de prijs. Hij kost een paar honderd euro, dus het is niet bepaald een apparaat wat je in een opwelling een keertje aanschaft. Je krijgt er wel 7 jaar garantie op. Als je zoals ik veel kookt, graag met basisingrediënten werkt, en het leuk vindt om een beetje te experimenteren in de keuken, dan is een Vitamix zeker een goede toevoeging aan je keukenarsenaal.
