The extra collar on it makes it very bulky and hard to handle. An extra piece that serves no useful purpose. This is an excellent blender. It seems like a construction defect but I find that most things I liquify end up leaking out from between the base and the pitcher. I pretty much avoid using it for this reason. Bought this during the Holidays and we've been using this pretty regularly and it's been working really well. I have purchased three of these blenders over the last 8 years (one for us, one for our son, and one for our vacation place) and all have worked well with nearly everyday use for...
