A 2-in-1 appliance is almost always a win-win. I thought this would be a good way to test out how badly I needed/wanted a food processor.
It made me realize that I would want something much bigger – 3 cups isn't a whole lot. I realized that I ultimately wanted something that would let me purée soups without having to do so in batches. I also wanted something to quickly shred cabbage for slaw, but I think the 3-cup capacity would only enable those tasks if I were to cut heads in eighths. margaritaville dm1000 blender reviewsAlso a bit disappointing was that the blender has only a 6-cup capacity. blender bottle sportmixer mini ukMost standard blenders are 8-cup. cuisinart chm-7 hand blender 7-speed powerselect pink collectionIt claims to have 12 speeds, but the differences are so minute, it makes me wonder if I would ever have to use all the "options." omega bl630 - 3 horsepower commercial blender
Regardless of size, the product works fine and I would say the power is comparable to most other appliances that do the same job. If you have space constraints, this would be a good way to go. Yes () No ()  Report Yes () No () I purchased this based on reviews here. kitchenaid mixer paddle discoloredThe first one was not assembled correctly and did not function, the blades did not have the cog insert to turn, but the motor worked. oster monterey 8 speed blender reviewsI returned to Walmart for replacement. waring blender pbb204The second one worked great but after the 5th time using it (in this case chopping ice which is a setting and I was only chopping 4 ice cubes) for a smoothie, the gear on the motor stripped and would no longer turn the blades.
I checked the website for replacement parts but only parts available are the Glass jar, rubber gasket and blades and the screw on base, not the square gear that turns the blades. This is threaded on to the motor with plastic threads which stripped out when used. I would not recommend this blender EVER to anyone because of the 2 problems listed here. The quality is not there from a company that has been doing blenders for quite some time and should have an understanding about what is needed to build a blender. Yes () No ()  Report Yes () No () My 15-year-old blender quit. I searched for a month and found this one. I liked the price and liked the extra feature of a switch-out food processor unit. Blender works well, speeds do in fact vary. It seems durable and touts its inner parts as metal and not plastic. No hints of impending problems. The blender jar is glass, which I like. Also has the "easy clean" feature. I make my own dog food and pulse and liquify whole eggs, shells and all.
The "easy clean" gets all the tiny bits of egg shell out of the bottom without me having to go in after them. The food processor unit is a happy surprise. The jar is hard plastic but easy to disassemble and so to clean. The fact sheet warns users BIG TIME to NOT immerse the food processor base in water, so I haven't made that mistake. The fact sheets (one for blender, one for FP) are well written. The only drawback for me: It's loud (like all blenders) but the "pitch" is a little more fingers-on-chalkboard. I just sing while it blends so I don't mind. Haven't heard from the neighbors though... Overall, so far (4 weeks, 2-3 x week): Great. Yes () No ()  Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser I had this same blender before. I never had a problem with it. I only replaced the blade assembly once because it started leaking a little after years of use. The glass cup broke (my fault) and to replace it would be almost as expensive as buying a new set; otherwise I 'd still be using it. I even donated the old motor to a close relative for more years of use.
I love the fact that it comes with the food processor, being a guy it is easy for me to put in there my favorite quesadilla toppings and have them chopped and ready in 10-15 seconds. If I remember correctly the price is almost the same of what I paid for the same set 8 years ago. Back then it came it came with a portable cup, one of those you put upside down with the blades to liquify then replace the lid and it is ready for the go. I never really used it and it got lost after moving. But, I was looking forward to use it this time. In resume, it is a great product and a great price. Yes (6) No (2)  Report Yes (6) No (2) Verified purchaser I love to cook and for years there were so many recipes that I wanted to make but couldn't because we didn't have a food processor. I just didn't want to spend the money and didn't have the space. Found this 2-in-1 blender/food processor and after reading reviews, went to Walmart and bought it - and I just love it! First thing I made was a berry smoothie with ice in the blender - worked like a charm.
Not even one chunk of ice was found in it. Then made a zucchini/carrot bread and used the food processor to grate the veggies - also worked like a charm! Now I can't wait to try all kinds of recipes (mostly soups, which we love) that require a food processor, and also to eat healthier. My only concern is that it only holds 3 cups at a time, but it's not a big deal. People have commented about the glass blender pitcher and the hard plastic food processor, and not to immerse the motor in water. They have also commented on the noise and I didn't find it that bad at all. In fact one of our cats who is afraid of loud noises actually sat beside me the whole time, without flinching. In the store, this product was less than $40. It looks nice on our counter. And quite frankly, if it only lasts for a year, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. It works super-well and the 2-in-1 will keep me coming back! Yes () No (0)  Report Yes () No (0) Verified purchaser I like the look of this blender, and the extra food processing part made it a good value.
At first I thought I would have to return it, because it didn't blend anything but the bottom ingredients and left the ones added later on top, totally undisturbed. I was quite disappointed. However, it turned out that it wasn't screwed together quite tight enough and once it was, it worked fine. If you have arthritis or just not very strong hands, you might need some help getting the bottom screwed on tight enough. Overall, I'd say I'm quite pleased with this blender. I am happy with the power and blending speed, use it every day for smoothies. Why spend more when this blender does a great job? The food processor is a nice extra that I am also pleased with. Yes () No (4)  Report Yes () No (4) Verified purchaser Pros: 1. Blades are SHARP (Be careful when unpackaging) 2. Made of durable glass
5. Doubles as a food processor 6. Fast and powerful blender Cons: 1. Lids and plastic pieces are flimsy 2. This thig is LOUD. Worse than a cheaper blender I own. 3. The rubber ring that seals the base is very small & thin, detaches and could very easily be lost. 4. Sharp blades, be careful when handling (Yes, I know I listed this as a pro also.) 5. Food Processor only comes with one kind of blade - not multifuntional Yes () No (7)  Report Yes () No (7) I went to Walmart to buy a blender because I put a wooden spoon in mine and broke it. So I replaced it with this one. So I was blending Parsley, lemon juice and oil. I use this for a marinade. Nothing is hard, Long as the blender is sharp it should work. after a min I realized it was not grinding it and then it stated smoking, I figured it was just because it was a new machine. Next I used the pulse function then it kept on smoking. So I said I wanted to get it finished so I just put it on grind to get it done with, It worked for another 1 min then it burned out.
