This is a great item to use with your KitchenAid. I didn't realize I already had one so it made a great housewarming gift. Works OK, does not seem to get ALL the batter with every stroke, but way better than the standard blade.It does get ingredients off the side. And It really should come standard with the mixer. But KA would rather you waste more time and money by tracking this down just to get a decently clean bowl mix... I used it for the first time a few days ago and LOVE IT! I have a 20 yr old standard size kitchenaid and it worked perfectly. The shield makes adding ingredients difficult because it blocks the edge of the bowl, and it gets hung on the beaters if you tip the head back to make room for adding ingredients. I would prefer to stop periodically and scrape the bowl with a spatula instead of fighting with the shield!
