I began with smoothies and the blender did an amazing job of blending the perfect smoothie! Everything was blended smoothly and there were no chunks or bits of ice. We have tried all different kinds of fruit in our smoothies and have found the blender perfectly blends the smoothie each time.

We have been making smoothies for breakfast each morning and I have managed to lose 15lbs in the last few months just by replacing my breakfast with a fruit smoothie. We even put some veggies into our smoothies and although it wasn't my favorite the smoothies were still very well blended. I have actually been following the Ninja Kitchen Facebook page for updates on new recipes and we have tried out all kinds! We even tried a salsa recipe that was fantastic. The larger container with its fearsome blades and powerful base easily chops ice into puree in short order.

The base unit has suction cups on it, so it will stay in place on the countertop and not wander around as it operates. The smaller chopper with its matching containers is more like a traditional blender and requires a little more technique to get all the ice to be chopped into puree. We got it delivered free and paid under $90 for it online. Overall, for the price, this unit is awesome, even if it lists for over $100 now. Would certainly recommend it to anyone, anytime! My old blender with a little power had the blade at the bottom and would pull the top ingredients into the bottom. The blades on this blender do NOT do that. The extra blades look attractive, but serve no purpose. I have to start and restart this blender so many times that the extra power it has serves no purpose. This thing is great for making smoothies when rushing in the morning.
