We make smoothies, grind grains and even dried beans, grate cheese ( it doesn't make shreds but little pieces- I still like it...
I really do love my Blendtec, though I have two fairly major complaints. First off, the LED display has not displayed properly since about a week after I received the unit. Although pricey, this is a high quality product that I expect to last for several years.It is primarily used for green smoothies and has no trouble with frozen... The Blendtec has handled whole lemons I've thrown in to make my smoothies chopping them to very small bits on "smoothie" mode. I purchased this unit to use in changing my lifestyle of eating. Health issues dictate I make drastic changes to save my life. I would buy this blender again in an instant. Just not from that supplier. They sent me a blender with only one jar, not as advertised, from some apartment in Calif.
