Looks like real glass but its really durable PLASTIC, which makes it unbreakable incase if it falls, yet light weight for easy pouring. We've had this blender for about 20 years and it has held up beautifully and looks brand new. We use it daily now; for many years I only used it once in a while for margaritas,... had it for 12 smoothies, not ice but frozen bananas. I'm worried about reviews I read, but so far so good I know this blender looks old school but it totally outperforms any other blender I've purchased that is built in this style of having a single, bottom blade. This blender is not a professional blender but for me is good. I blend every morning for my smoothies and it makes a good job...just put enough liquid with your frozen fruits. I am very disappointed in this blender! It is a commercial model and should be much more durable.

After a few purchases of blenders I thought I'd never find one that could work for our needs. We have what appears to be an older model of this, and I was thrilled when I was able to search for it and come up with this! This thing is tough. The other brands and models I used had died within a week, it was super frustrating. We use this to make smoothies about 4 days per week on average. About 50-100 smoothies per week on an average week, more in the summer (we bought this before summer this year, in May 2015). It's now September 2015 and it's lasted through our busy season with no problems at all.
