I was waiting for this item for a long time and it didnt meet my expectation it gets stuck every 2 minutes ! I love this vita mix, it's perfect size and super powerful :) I don't understand people and their silly expectations with products these days. No I haven't been a vitamix user for over ten years as I'm not a dinosaur blah blah blah etc.... This Vita Mix machine did a poor job at blending fruit smoothies. The pitcher shifts on the blender cog and has to be held in place. The entire machine shakes and shimmys. If you only expect and will only accept the best thing in life then this is the blender for you. This isn't just for the chefs or the restaurants but also a blender to have for... I have burned up a couple of their household models. I finally upgraded to the 1005 VitaPrep. 1hp more than the household models. It has the power to muscle through a raw cheesecake batter made with raw cashews. Their standard model does not handle raw cheesecake. The standard models overheat and smoke out with raw cheesecake, making it necessary to turn off and cool the machine. Usually, the standard models will simply STOP when the task becomes too hard, smelling up the kitchen. Some people will put their machines in the freezer to cool off their household VitaMixes.

So far, I have not needed to cool my Commercial VitaPrep 1005. I've had it a couple years. I would not go back to the household VitaMix models. Unfortunately, the VitaPrep 1005 doesn't have a 7 year warranty. Mine only came with a 3 year warranty. Add a Robo Coupe to your kitchen too and you can handle most of your mixing and prep jobs with plenty of power. Very nice quality, Fast service. I purchased a similar model. The only difference is that the one I purchased has more than one speed. I use this blender almost everyday since I am a raw food vegan. I have tried a wide variety of different uses with this blender. Some of the things I have done are chopping nuts & flax seeds, making smoothies, soup, hummus and even ice cream. This blender is magnificently powerful, easy to use, and gets the job done quickly. The only downside, is that the container can take a bit to clean after making pureed stuff. All in all, a wonderful product that is well worth the price. I would highly recommend this blender to anyone.
