No I haven't been a vitamix user for over ten years as I'm not a dinosaur blah blah blah etc.... This Vita Mix machine did a poor job at blending fruit smoothies. The pitcher shifts on the blender cog and has to be held in place. I have burned up a couple of their household models. I finally upgraded to the 1005 VitaPrep. 1hp more than the household models. It has the power to muscle through a raw cheesecake batter made with raw cashews. Their standard model does not handle raw cheesecake. The standard models overheat and smoke out with raw cheesecake, making it necessary to turn off and cool the machine.

Usually, the standard models will simply STOP when the task becomes too hard, smelling up the kitchen. Some people will put their machines in the freezer to cool off their household VitaMixes. So far, I have not needed to cool my Commercial VitaPrep 1005. I've had it a couple years. I would not go back to the household VitaMix models. Unfortunately, the VitaPrep 1005 doesn't have a 7 year warranty. Mine only came with a 3 year warranty. Add a Robo Coupe to your kitchen too and you can handle most of your mixing and prep jobs with plenty of power.
