It takes a great deal of skill and practice to use it and not turn the item you are processing to mush. The instructions even say that. Even with practice the Magic Bullet does not even approach the uses shown in the ads. It says it grates all kinds of cheeses. Not true, if you put a soft cheese (e.g. sharp cheddar) it just turns to mush even using the techniques described on the manual and on their website. Yet I can easily grate this cheese on my hand grater.We tried to chop onions and even using the lightest touch we got - mushCarrots - mush. We were able to make smoothies because you basically want those to be mush. Hard cheeses like Parmesan seem to work OK.Basically, this device is much more limited than advertised and if you have a blender already there is no sense in buying this product because it can't do much better.
