The direct metal drive system came loose while making a smoothie making some horrendous sounds. Initial use indicates that it will meet my expectations. The item I received was used. I have had a Ninja I liked but didn't last. I had a Nutrition bullet that didn't last so I have tried them all. The blender is amazing. It blends up anything I put in there for smoothies. Not giving 5 starts for 2 reasons: 1) the base doesn't have suction to stick to the counter, and it has so much power that if you turn it on without holding it tight, it will jump... Was hoping it would have been better at blending whole fruit, no matter how long I blend, always so many big bits It's ok.....still does not grind up the whole fruit Super easy to operate, powerful!!! So initially we were looking at buying two separate appliances. After seeing the reviews and price on this one, we ordered it. The item came fairly quickly and we set it up. It was a little unclear before looking at the instructions how to use the blend and go cups, but it soon became clear. So far we've really only made smoothies in it, but the cycle button makes it a breeze. The reverse function and the blade design make a nice smoothie. It is quite loud as most powerful blenders are. The whole jar assembled with the lid don't quite fit under our cabinets, but these are small things. As long as it keeps functioning like this, it's a great blender for the money. We can't wait to try the included food processor attachment.
