oster galaxie cyclomatic chrome blender

Same buttons as the other Osters but instead of a speed control dial you get the ability to stop and start the blend in quick bursts (like revving a car engine). Still, avocado, brown and orange- just not classy.Blender TurnBlender LampOsterizer BlenderBlender SwitchBeehive OsterizerVintage BeehiveVintage AfflairRepurposed LightsRepurposed RefurbishedForwardVintage beehive Osterizer blender turn into a lamp, switch works to turn on/off the lighting. Age 18-24 25-34 35-44 45-54 55-64 65 and older Gender Male Female To meet production costs the mfr clearly had to cut back on the quality from their top of the line blender, but, I have to say, they maintained very good quality where it really matters. The jar is good, thick glassware. The base fits well and the gasket is good quality material and provides a good seal. Most importantly, the drive shaft from the base to the blades is metal to metal, not plastic like a lot of blenders in this price range. The top fits solidly without any sign of leaking.
The switches feel inexpensive but are easy to operate. The label on the front is an inexpensive stick on and may lift off over time. The speed range is good. I bought this to have a good low speed range and I'm happy with this. I have not tried anything that would require high power so I can't comment on that. I would highly recommend this blender unless you need to do some serious chopping. It may work for this application but I don't have any experience to make a recommendation. No chunks at the end like a more expensive one I had before. I love the glass jar! So easy to clean too!! It's worth every penny!!!! No bpa, glass jar. The lower portion of the jar along with the blade can be dismantled for easy cleaning. I would recommend this since its a good buy at this price. I have always found Oster appliances to excel and this is no exception. I use it every morning to make my smoothie. It easily crushes the ice and makes a delicious smoothie - effortless! The first few times of using it was great. It chopped ice well and made some really good smoothies. I used it again to make a smoothie and noticed that the bottom (black plastic part) that you secure to the notch was loose and spilled smoothie everywhere because it came off after blending. So I tightened it back on and the next time i went to use it I heard some really awful grinding noise. kitchenaid hand mixer 90700I happened to look underneath where the fan vent was and noticed 2 screws loose and knocking around...being the reason for the noise. breville cordless hand blender vhb083So I unscrewed it so I could put the 2 screws back in place and seen the 2 spots for the screws. hamilton beach blender 50256wvThe screws did not stay in place and fell back out...making the fan loose.
So I decided to just leave the screws out (because I didn't have any others to fit at the time) and try to mix with it. Well it barely even blended, much less chop ice. Back to Walmart this one goes. Yes () No ()  Report Yes () No () I was in search of a good blender in USA that could withstand my Indian use. I'm a South Indian so grinding coconut, chutney, dosa batter are my everyday haul , I wasn't sure which US blender could do this. I spoke to many Indian ladies, surfed all over the Internet and finally settled down for this. Trust me this is such a bliss. It just fulfills all my daily needs. Very easy to clean and maintain. The 6 up glass jar is perfect to grind even small quantity. I'm very happy with the purchase. If you are looking for a blender just go for it. makes amazing smoothies and ice is not a challenge for this blender! Yes () No (3)  Report Yes () No (3) As a chef, I use professional grade blenders at work which have three settings: off, low and high. I was hesitant to buy a home blender with 14 buttons for fear of just having more to break. I've been using this blender for a couple of weeks now making everything from smoothies to Caesar dressing and its works great! I love the heavy glass jar. The entire assembly feels strong and solid. For the money, this is a very good home blender that should prove versatile and should last a long time with minimal fuss. Now, if someone would just invent a blender that you couldn't turn on unless the lid was on they could sell billions of the things! Doors are open from 9am-9pm.
For more information and details of the clothing, please visit the first cover I created for the event at Fashionwrites. Reunited and it feels so good. I scored another nudie puzzle. This one has all the pieces. In a surreal moment my Husband, my Mother-in-Law and myself put it together. The yellow tray was a buck. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it but for a dollar I couldn't pass it up. I think the hand painted sugar skull is my favorite. It's not vintage but it sure is awesome. Found this book (published 1950) yesterday in all its vintage-y goodness for 98 cents. Seems like it was read/loved/owned by more than one person.I don't believe it's worth anything but such a nice feeling to own something with history.Happy hunting this week! As much as I love home decor, it has a strong bent towards taking itself too seriously, and that is where we diverge. I believe every room should have some whimsy, or at least some humor in it, and thus came about the theme of Humor Bathroom (which excludes bathroom humor).
I also like to flirt with cheesiness - I like the challenge of having fun in decorating while still maintaining a level of taste. Ideally, I'm going for entertainment and style. At least that's what I hope to achieve! And so it was with great joy that in one outing I found both a tissue box holder with a giant nose on it, and a tooth shaped toothbrush holder. I presume they came from the same (awesome) household...or the thrifting gods aligned a special shopping day for me. Either way, I'm elated. One of the best things about them, I think, is that they are white ceramic, so they are not glaringly garish. They blend into the white of the bathroom walls and fixtures, but once your eyes light upon them, you are let into my little joke. And I almost chuckle every time I reach for a tissue. It has been so great to add tiny moments of joy to the mundane activities to my life with fun accessories. I'm just going to have to make sure I don't go overboard with this! I know I just posted about a day ago but I couldn't not share my Friday finds with you.
First, I found this vintage pyrex measuring cup (I'm an avid pyrex collector). Judging by the D handle and the absence of the metric measures, I believe it's post 1940s and pre-1970s (if I'm wrong let me know!). It was $1 and I absolutely love it! I also found these vintage canning jars which I brought home because I thought they were beautiful. The smaller one is a .75L Le Parfait "super" jar made in France. The other is 1L Floral Cove jar made in Italy. The larger was $3 and the smaller was $2. I love them so much and I'm still trying to figure out what to put in them! Hi, my name is Mandi and I blog over at make it dear and I am looking for help from you thrifty types! What would you do with these cute containers? Restyle time or leave as is?? Too see the full story....click here! Cheers ~ Lara at NowSoLA VintageI'm so excited to be able to contribute to this blog! I've started thrifting a lot more lately so thought I'd share my finds with you all. I love finding other people's old and beautiful treasures and making them my own.
It's not only a lot of fun but easy on the pocket and the environment too! Anyway, here's a few of my recent thrift finds. (And don't hesitate to tell me if you know anything about what I find - because I probably don't!)I found this ring holder for 98 cents and the tray behind for $3 to keep my jewelery and toiletries on in the bathroom. The tray is actually mirrored, sorry I couldn't provide a better photo of it. Anyway, I love looking at these two - they're super pretty and make me feel totally glam.Sorry for the blurry photo on this one, but I got these earrings for 98 cents! They need a bit of clean up before I wear them but I like them nonetheless =)This glass is so pretty! There was only one but I couldn't not take it home with me (75 cents). I didn't find any markings on the bottom so I'm unsure of maker/history.This is one of my favorite finds, a globemaster globe. I've wanted a vintage globe for a while and when I found this one I was pretty happy ($2.25). I've been trying to date it and so far I know it's pre 1971 because it still has East Pakistan on it which became Bangladesh in 1971 (yes I'm a nerd).
But I can't figure out any other dating clues. =/I found a bag of these sewing notions for $1. Lots of old binding, ric rac, and eye hooks. Lovely.I found these two beautiful mugs for $1 total at the local SA. They're so pretty I could look at them all day. They have no markings on the bottom.Have a great weekend!! I was out treasure hunting yesterday, hitting the usual haunts.  I was mostly looking for beautiful clothing pieces to list on eBay (when the limit is lifted from my account...got about 27 days to go, I think...uhggg) but I also found some goodies while I was out. I was trying to be artistic with this shot. And don't forget about my Give-A-Way....easy to win a fun prize!!!! I'm finally back on The Thrift Collective scene, though nearly my every outfit of every day is laden with thrifts. I've been absent from this wonderful hub for money-conscious fashionistas, but that doesn't mean I've been absent from the thrift world. Thrift left, thrift right! Here's another outfit full of thrifted treasures--all from the local Seattle Goodwill.
As always, it does good will to my closet. I'm wearing a thrifted sheer white dress with a lace-hemmed slip and a thrifted shearling-detailed coat. I packed on the white layers with hoodies, leg warmers, and little trinkets for my thrifted knit bag--is it called thrifting if I'm rummaging through my boyfriend's house looking for non-used and deserted items? Just because it's not in a handy dandy full-of-wonders thrift store, doesn't mean you can't thrift it and give it a new home--A.K.A. your closet. Hardcore thrifters will look almost anywhere for a good find. My dress is actually an XXL blouse, and my coat is, like always, two sizes too big. I can't stress enough how important and fun it is to look beyond your size--or before it! Find smaller sizes and use them as crop-tops. Use bigger sizes for dresses or comfortable fits. My mom and my boyfriend always think I'm crazy--until I put it on. More often than not, you'll surprise even yourself. The possibilities are endless.
