oster bpst02-b00 blender

Very disapointed with this purchase-bad customer servicePower with the Noise to go with itCan a blender be too powerful???Better than KitchenAidI had a KitchenAid blender for many years. It almost always left chunks of frozen fruit in my smoothies. This one doesn't do that. As other reviewers mention, it is loud! I have decided I can deal with that because it doesn't take very long to create a lump-free smoothie that goes easily through a drinking straw. I start the blending process on the lower "pulse" speed to minimize the contents flying all over the interior, and after a second or two I turn it up to the other speed for 10-15 seconds -- I might stand back or cover my ears --and breakfast is ready.Another thing I like about this blender in comparison with the KitchenAid -- the accessories. I sometimes use the Blend-N-go Cup Oster 6848-000-950 Blend-N-Go Cup -- mainly if I forgot to wash the travel mug I usually use. I also suspect that replacement parts are going to be cheaper and easier to find than for KitchenAid.Here's my smoothie recipe, in the order I add the ingredients:4 to 6 frozen strawberries1/2 cup frozen blueberries(optional) a little hot water to start the thawing process and slightly warm the smoothie2 heaping tablespoons Jarrow Formulas Fermented Soy Essence(optional) powdered greens or vitamins3 tablespoons ground flax seed (use 2 if you want a less thick drink)approx. 3/

4 cup juice -- my favorite is L&A Pineapple Coconut. If I have it, some chunks of fresh pineapple are wonderful, or you might use a piece of banana to add sweetness. Thanks to the soy powder, this sees me through to lunch.Oster® Blender Accessory Refresh Kit - Black Keep it fresh in the kitchen with the Oster® Blender Accessory Refresh Kit. 6-piece set includes blade, lid, bottom cap and sealing rings. The six point blade makes easy work of everything I have thrown at it. We use it daily for smoothies made with frozen fruit. I also have pureed a creamy butternut squash soup with this blender yielding wonderful results. It was purchased to replace a Oster bought in 2009 that had a badly cracked bottom cap. I was told by Oster Customer Service that parts were no longer carried for my old blender and a new one needed to be bought. I am pleasantly surprised to find that ALL pieces (except the lid) will easily interchange from the new Oster to my old one!

Yes (1) No (1) Report Yes (1) No (1) Verified purchaser My husband and I did a lot of research before buying this blender. We tried it out as soon as it arrived. We were immediately pleased with how well it performed. We used it to make smoothies. We used the pre-programmed settings and it made one of the best smoothies we have had.
dualit hand blender 88910Everything was well blended including the ice.
vitamix drink machine vm0104There were no chunks of anything.
f'real blender caloriesAs we continued to make various smoothies, we also noticed that each time we used it they came out the same. The pre-programmed settings made sure that they came out perfect each time. My husband believes that the blenders excellent performance is due to the reversing blades, making sure that the food and ice are drawn down to the blades.

There are only three speeds in the manual mode but we discovered that isn't a problem at all. Once you really start using a blender you realize that you basically only use three speeds. Given the 600 watt motor, reversing blades, and a glass jar that won't scratch and is easy to clean, this blender is definitely well worth the price. We definitely recommend this blender for all your dry and wet food chopping and blending needs. Yes () No (5) Report Yes () No (5) Verified purchaser My job is the privilege of caring for my spouse. Learning to cook as an octogenarian has been difficult. A liquid meal for supper is helping. I needed a tool to make them into "slurpees": 1. Place ice, fruit, liquid meal in blender, 2.Press "on" button, 3.Press "Frozen Drinks & Shakes" button 4.The machine goes through several different activities to produce perfectly what I want. Yes (8) No (0) Report Yes (8) No (0) Verified purchaser I have had this less than 6 months and the motor blew out when trying to make a smoothie.

I had only used it a few times before this. I didn't like it to begin with when I first used it, I should have returned it then. I now bought a Ninga so I will see how I like that. I only use the thing for malts/shakes and smoothies. Yes (0) No (0) Report Yes (0) No (0) I am very pleased with all the features on this blender: the ruggedness of the steel-to-steel parts; the heavy-duty glass mixing container; and the multiple speed and function choices. All features have worked perfectly every time I've used this product--two or three times daily. I did a lot of online research before selecting this model, and I'm glad I did. Yes () No (0) Report Yes () No (0) We purchased three of these blenders for our youth cafe to mix smoothies and frozen coffee drinks. We mix 20 to 50 drinks a night. The blenders are fast, reliable and sturdy. Noise is only a problem when all three run at the same time! Be sure to add liquid, fruit or mix, then ice, in that order, and you'll always have a perfect drink.

Ice crushing is superb. The pre-programmed buttons make them easy for anyone to use and clean up is a breeze due to the control panel's flat profile. Some other blenders are priced lower but we think the price is worth it. Yes () No () Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser I can't afford a vitamix but wanted to find something that could make smoothies. So far have used half a dozen times or more and happy with it. I'm sure it takes longer to make asmoothie than a vitamix but it still does the job. I start with the food chop button and then use maximum pulse and it works fine. Much better than my previous $25 Oster blender. This model is smooth and programmable. It takes reading directions as we all should.
