If you are wondering whether or not to step up into the hefty price range of the Blendtec/Vitamix world, I can give you some advice.
I returned my Ninja because it didn't grind up seeds in my smoothies nor did it make kale and other fibrous vegetables as smooth and creamy as a professional blender. I figured it wouldn't, because its too well priced. I bought it anyway and realized that I just couldn't chew my smoothies every day. cuisinart cpb-300 c 15-piece compact portable blenderLemons, oranges, broccolli, kale, chia seeds, you name it, the Ninja would mostly blend it, but not liquid smooth. margaritaville blender demoI would get blueberry skins stuck on the blade! oster blender jar 6812Don't get me wrong, I could still pull it all through a straw, it just wasn't quite small enough for myself or my really picky husband. bamix hand blender m122
If you don't eat (drink?) those tough ingredients, the Ninja is fine, you can save yourself the money. BUT, if you want liquid smoothies or to make soups or grind flour or make nut butters, you are just going to have to buy the more expensive ones. This Blendtec has blown my mind so far. I made soup by putting all my vegetables, water, and seasoning in there and pressing the soup button twice. chartpak blender marker australiaIt blends it into smooth soup AND heats it to perfection. oster bcbg08 blender amazonI was sold on the Vitamix for a long time, but couldn't resist the price on the Blendtec. waring waterfall blender reviewI have read that they are nearly the same in terms of quality, and I just couldn't justify buying a $400 Vitamix when I could get a refurbished Blendtec for much less.
Also, refurbishments go back to the factory and get rebuilt. Its better than brand new because its cheaper! has both the Blendtec and the Ninja, as well as the Nutri-bullet (which family members have and use daily and love). Add a few frozen fruits, some protein power, and some juice or milk... and have to play around for 5 minutes to get the darn thing to blend. That ENDED the moment my Blendtec arrived. This thing is a serious tool for people who want to do some serious blending. It's almost startling how powerful it is, and how well it can handle almost anything I can throw at it. I chose the refurbished "Classic". I figured... it still has the warranty, and since the motor is the same in the various units (for the most part), I didn't feel I needed to pay extra for the other designs.
I rated the appearance of the product one notch back because I was surprised by the finish of the unit (I got red) when I opened the box. I expected it to be 'shiny' and a little more polished (meaning... the red cowling). That said... the materials seem very durable and "industrial strength", so I'm 'over it' already. I'm so happy with this unit! Verified purchaser This is the best price I could find! Comes with 7 year warranty. You'd never know it was refurbished! Yes () No (1)  Report Yes () No (1) Verified purchaser Got the blender a few weeks ago and have had a few chances to use it. Had a hiccup since the supplied manual was for the model with square buttons (mine has round buttons with icons, and the buttons are not all in the same place). Had to look up the manual via the web site. Once I got going, I was impressed by the power of the blender and the ease of clean up (plus the blade is not sharp - so no sliced fingers). My wife and I look forward to making lots of delicious meals and drinks.
We might purchase an additional container as well. And the red color is awesome! Verified purchaser Best blender ever. Great price, even better value. If you are on the fence, jump, this is an amazing appliance. I like the digital programming, it really makes it simple. The key to this blender is freeze the fruit for smoothies then blend. However load as per the instructions. All soft to heavy or it will not work for you, I almost returned mine because of this. Grinds up wheat berries, makes great green smoothies. I used it today to mix up the ingredients for a steak marinade. I was told about this blender 5 years ago, and have gone back and forth on whether to purchase it. I am in love with it. Oh and the baked potato soup was to die for. And "Refurbished" I would have never known. Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I bought this to make healthy smoothies every morning. I was using a ninja that blended, but didn't get the contents smooth enough. My smoothies were chewy. My Blendtec gets them smooth so quickly. I can't wait to make soups and margaritas with my new toy! Verified purchaser What a wonderful and amazing blender! When my husband started making smoothie using our 5 yr old cheap blender, I felt bad as it didn't do a good job and it was soooo noisy so I started checking into a better one. at a good price and jumped on it right away. But when I saw other "recommended" ones on the site, I did some more research and found this great deal on blendtec blender.
Spending a lot of money on a blender seemed a bit ridiculous but since there wasn't a huge difference between the Ultima(I had bought the extended protection plan since it only came with 1 yr warranty) and this one with 7 year warranty, I thought this Blendtec one was actually not a bad deal at all. Walmart had the best deal even with taxes so I ordered one right away and cancelled that turtle one. We've had it for almost 2 weeks now and we have made smoothies every day so far. It's amazing how good of a job this blender does. There was a huge difference in the smoothie texture between the one he made 2 weeks ago using our old one and this blendtec one. I had one sip of the former one and that was enough. But this blendtec one was so silky and smooth that I really enjoyed it. Now we are even thinking of buying a twister jar for more/various usage because we enjoy this blender so much. My husband smiles every time he looks at the blender and says "What a nice blender!". We made ice cream, too using this wideside jar and it came out really good.
