I purchased a "spare" in the event I wore out my original Ninja. This blender is well designed, multi functional, and durable ... just keeps on going. If my original set keeps going, I will be giving this "spare" as a gift. Well designed for the price. I live a low-carb lifestyle so this thing is whipping up a lot of egg-based recipes, flax crackers, almond meal/flour, peanut/almond/coconut butter, soups, ground meats. I made hummus for my sister and it was so smooth and perfect! I find a new way to use it every day. It takes up a lot of space to store since the containers can't stack but I don't care. I love this thing and recommend it to anyone who is looking to save some time in the kitchen.

Cleaning is very easy. was a little annoyed to receive this as a gift... But in the past few months I've been making him smoothies & he has complained of chunks of plastic in his drinks. I examined the blenders & didn't see how it was possible, so I continued on with egg muffins. I would use it to mix the eggs & finely blend the veggies. I was horrified when I gave a friend a batch of these egg muffins & she came to me a few days later with a chunk of clear plastic! It was the size of an eraser on a pencil. She jokingly said I was trying to poison her, & so did my husband! This dang thing is giving me an awful reputation! I googled Ninja & chunks of plastic & found nothing. Maybe this isn't a widespread epidemic, or maybe there are many more out there that don't chew well & are swallowing it?.?. I don't know, but I kinda wish I had used this thing sooner so that I would have noticed in a timely manner to get our $$$ back. I tried to attach a pic, but the file was too big. HP does not do heavy jobs that require more than a few minutes to whip or blend, but small batches of nut or liquid mixtures pulse well. The pitcher design has ribs inside and makes scraping clean difficult. Rubber rings on bottom of all pitchers need to be removed for dishwasher or else they won't fit well after heat of water (I don't use heat for dry cycle in my dishwasher. Liquids leak through the top of handles where they connect to the pitcher; the crud is nasty and can't be flushed out with normal washing. Obviously the design of the pitcher handle needs re engineered. By the time I figured out what was happening, my pitchers were beyond warranty and Ninja told me the replacement pitchers each cost $19. I prefer not to purchase any more Ninja products from this company. So I got this one after researching it. With a little water added, I pulse the Ninja until the consistency is right, & get an unbelievably nutritious super-green smoothie mix. Even the carrots end up fully chopped & pulverized. Can't taste any veggies as the fruit sweetens everything. I make 2-3 quarts at a time, refrigerating it in mason jars, & enjoy a pint a day so I only have to make this concoction once a week. I use the blender for salsa, too, making a quart at a time. Got the Ninja Master Prep Pro a month ago & it's doing the job beautifully so far. Recommend watching YouTube videos on the product to make sure this item is for you, but it sure is the item for me!

I, too, have had a plastic chunk problem. My Ninja is a few years old as well. I finally figured out that the chunks were from the round rubber circle that encircles the hole on the top of the lid. I guess mine "wore" out a bit and fell in and was chopped without my noticing it. I know I ingested some before I realized it. I paid $15 trying to order a replacement online only to receive something very hard plastic to replace something that was soft plastic and did not work. It ended up breaking the insertion area of my motor part. I don't know if this is something that happens over time as an "age" problem or what, but I do plan to replace my Ninja as I love the product and miss the many uses it served.
