ninja blender bl740 review

Before we begin, I want you to know that I was kindly provided with a blender by Ninja Kitchen and was not compensated for the review. All opinions are 100% of my own.Today I’m showing you why Ninja Ultima Blender is the best blender for green smoothies and making a hard core Detox Green Smoothie. Our household lives on green smoothies, almost every day, including the kids. I love my Superfood Chia Smoothie and I share the tips how to make it drinkable for the kids. Having a good blender I would say is a big factor whether you will be making a green smoothie on a regular basis or not. *Update Dec 2014: We have been using this blender for almost a year and it’s still going strong! Not a single problem just some wear and tear on the plastic jug as we use the blender every single day. Below photo taken on Dec 15, 2014. Before Ninja came into my life, I owned simple $40 blender that was splashing everywhere, leaking on the bottom and make purees rather than smoothies.

This is what you get: 1. Blender with 2 blades and a lid.
cuisinart smartpower compact blender vs magic bullet 2. 3 single serve cups (Alex took one to work =>not pictured) that are perfect to go.
cuisinart blender cbt-500 jar 3. Extra blade for a single serve cup. Kind of like Magic Bullet but MUCH better. Trust me, I have owned Magic Bullet for 7 years. The blender is super powerful. I love 2 sets of blades as the top one is crushing vegetables and fruits like there is no tomorrow. I do not chop any ingredients before adding them to a blender. The blades are powerful enough to grind nuts into a nut butter, grains, meat and even coffee beans. It replaces many appliances on your counter. The base is heavy and sturdy, with strong suction cups at the bottom. When it’s blending, it is loud but not flying all over the counter.

I had to hold my old blender often petrified it would take off. And it’s so easy to wipe and clean it with a towel. You have a Pulse + Start/Stop button and then various speeds from 1 – 10. If using single serve cup, it easily clicks on the main base of the blender and there is only 1 speed for it – Single Serve. The main blender securely attaches to the base with one easy click on any side. I did not experience any difficulty attaching the blender to its base. Then there is a lid => my LOVE! I love how sturdy it is! Like I said, my old blender didn’t close tightly and was splashing the smoothie all over the kitchen. I had to hold it with a towel on top. This lid is real stuff, it even has a handle which you click in place to close and then just push Release button once you are done. But you really don’t have to remove the lid in order to pour your smoothie. There is this super convenient spout that clicks securely and tightly in place and doesn’t leak. And I stuff my blender.

When I want to make a full jug of smoothie, I have to add ingredients twice because as big as this blender is, it really can’t hold that many fruits and veggies at once. Today on the menu was romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, ginger, mango and lemon => Detox Green Smoothie. And then you blend with these blades. Isn’t is amazing => Before: pulsing a few times & After: blending for 3 – 5 minutes. The smoothie comes out creamy, velvety smooth with absolutely no tiny bit of chunks of anything. I totally recommend buying Ninja Ultima and so does Bethenny. I came across this clip by accident and when I looked closer, I recognized my new blender. She found it powerful enough to chop the human head in. And here is a quick comparison of Ninja to Vitamix. Now, I’m not saying that Vitamix or Blendtec are not good blenders. What I’m saying is when you compare the features and cost of 3, Ninja Ultima has an advantage in my opinion. I have tested Ninja Ultima for over 2 weeks now and can attest to the professional high quality of this blender.

And it costs only $179.99 plus FREE shipping. Now we are talking! And now onto my hardcore Detox Green Smoothie. I like to add variation to my green smoothies menu. I also believe in drinking barely sweet green smoothies. If you add a bunch of bananas, dates, mangoes and only a handful of spinach, then it’s a dessert smoothie. It’s great but it’s a dessert.:) When I drink a green smoothie, I want to feel like I’m drinking at least 2 servings of salad. I like to put a checkmark next to my greens for the day. In this smoothie recipe, fresh romaine lettuce pairs really well with spiciness of ginger and a bit of sweet mango to make the smoothie drinkable. Now, go easy on kale because too much and your smoothie will taste bitter. I always make extra so we have some for the morning after. It might be not ideal but it’s life. Ninja “sippy cups” are leakproof and tall design makes it convenient to drink from them. Love these cups way better than Magic Bullet ones.

I like to stick a straw into the opening and sip on a smoothie. I also use these long handle spoons to stir the smoothie in a cup or a tall glass. Sometimes if you add chia the smoothie is thicker the next day and these spoons make it super handy to reach all the green goodness sitting at the bottom. Now onto the actual recipe. Ingredients3 - 4 romaine lettuce leaves 1 handful kale (optional) 1 cup mango chunks, fresh or frozen 1 cup ice (only if using fresh mango) 1/2 inch ginger root, peeledDirectionsAdd all ingredients to a blender and process until smooth.
