I know it’s changed mine!At one point, I lived with a roommate who owned (insert golden, angelic halo here), a Vitamix. I know it sounds really extreme, but it was a life changer. You can probably guess that I spent the most money on my blender. I ultimately ended up buying a Ninja Ultima Blender, solely because it was about $200 less than a Vitamix (which is still on my wishlist).

There are many different versions of this product. The Ninja Ultima is the “middle of the line” model. I will caution you that if you are making soup in your Ninja, exercise patience while doing so. Let the vegetables cool a bit beforehand because the blender is powerful enough that when pureeing already hot vegetables, it can easily explode everywhere (or maybe that is because I had too many boiled sweet potatoes in the blender at one time). The Ninja is a warrior nonetheless, definitely holding its own in the smoothie blending war with its Vitamix counterpart.The Vitamix is wonderful for blending smoothies. It has three series, C (classic), G (next generation) and S (personal). These blenders are composed of quality, durable materials and come with a great warranty (5 years for the S model and 7 years for the C and G series models). Unlike the Ninja blending system, the Vitamix doesn’t pride itself solely on a sharp blade. It does use an aircraft grade stainless steel blade, but what really makes it so effective is its metal drive system that connects right to the base of the motor.

This makes for better blends and gives the blender a longer lifespan. The blending containers of the Vitamix are engineered to efficiently rotate ingredients as the user changes the speed/power/torquing of the motor.
