The item started leaking from the bottom as many other reviewers indicated. Called Kitchen aid and surprisingly they didnt have any complaints about the issue. The blender is just ok. We make smoothies every day. It is advertised as starting slow so that it won't have that big splash in the beginning, but that is not true at all.Works perfectly, and I love that the blade comes out so I can clean it well. The only slight issue I've had is with the rubber ring that sits inside the blender around... Very disappointed with this blender. I can never tell when it has clicked together properly and if it hasn't, then it leaks everywhere when you turn it on.
