This machine is much quieter than my previous mixer. It does an excellent job mixing soft batter and cookie dough. I haven't tried bread dough yet. The glossy enamel finish looks good in the kitchen. I look forward to collecting the attachments to expand it's capabilities. The only thing I miss from my old machine is the mixing timer. If I had to mix cake batter for 2 minutes or knead dough for ten I could set the timer.

I was free to work on something else and the mixer would shut off automatically. I recommend the addition of the scraper beater. To eliminate the need to stop the machine and scrape the sides. Overall I am very pleased with the performance and appearance of my Kitchenaid. And, thanks to the deal I got on E-Bay, I got a good price as well. The only thing I have ever had to replace on the original mixer is the enamel covered beater bar. Although this mixer was missing the beater bar and the attachment cover, both pieces were easy to find and replace for a small price. They say pizza dough is really tough on a KA mixer but not this one. It whips right through even the stiffest dough. If something ever happens to this mixer, I will fix it (with the same metal gears and parts) rather than buying a new one. It's just that dependable!
