This KitchenAid blender is very well designed both functionally and aesthetically. With a range of 7 powerful settings, simple and easy to use controls, and sturdy base, it stands up to regular use with grace. The pitcher is tight fitting and doesn't leak. This is a problem I have had with cheaper blenders. The pitcher is also easy to remove and clean. The base is easy to wipe down, but sometimes the raised buttons collect spills that, once dried, can be difficult to scrub off. Also, the inside of the base is narrow. If spills fall in and are allowed to dry, it is very awkward to fit a sponge or scrub brush in for cleaning. I use a baby bottle brush and this usually does the trick. The only thing below standard with this machine is the blade. It dulled significantly in only six months of regular use, and no longer chops ice and frozen fruit effectively.

The blade can be sharpened, but this is a hassle that I won't bother with. I have found that KitchenAid replacement parts are very easy to find online, so I will simply buy a replacement blade. Overall, this is a wonderful product. I can compare it to comparable Cuisinart and Sunbeam products and, while it may be a bit pricier, it outperforms on all fronts. The style is also superior. Aside from my coffee maker, it is the only appliance that I display on my countertop. But with its stylish color and slim body, it compliments my dcor. If you are prepared to sharpen your blade every few months and are in the market for a powerful yet affordable blender, the KitchenAid KSB5600B0 is a good option.
