Verified purchaser I have had this less than 10 mos and a beater has broken- spoke came apart and the power is so low I can barely make whip cream. Especially stressful as this happened on Christmas Eve with a house full of dinner guests. I just received this mixer as a Christmas gift. (A kitchen aid hand mixer was on my list). This mixer does not compare to my old kitchen aid mixer that I had for many years. This one is not anything I would recommend to anyone, let alone a friend. I wish I could return it, however, since it was a gift, I have no receipt, and I don't know where it was purchased. First I should say that my first mixer is a stand mixer that was my mother's for about 15 years before she died. Its only drawback is the harvest gold color ;-). Mom has been gone for 34 yrs and I still am using her mixer.

I decided to get a hand mixer for times when I don't want to use the large bowl of the stand mixer and just need a quick mix on something. It is red, a color i will not tire of in my lifetime. It's performance is excellent and it does exactly what I need it to do. Its light wt. makes it easy to maneuver, regardless of the size of the bowl. It travels well for those occasions when I am working with my church group to prepare food away from home. And it does a great job of whipping small amounts of cream or just a few egg whites or yolks. In the stand mixer this is not always accomplished well . It has not replaced my stand mixer but provides back up to the ever reliable mixer that Dad bought Mom for Christmas nearly 50 years ago. (Dad was such a romantic.) I absolutely love this hand mixer. I've used other hand mixers in the past and by far this is the best. Don't waste your money Model KHM512ER 5-Speed Bought 10/26/14 and just 2 years later during Thanksgiving 2016 slowed to a stop and quit.
