It is my favorite appliance by far.But bowl has to be forced down to lock into place. Should not be that difficult to push bowl in place. We've had this mixer for all of it almost 3 years now. It is our fourth kitchenaid stand mixer, and certainly the best for large dough mixing. This is the real deal and made here in the US not a cheap chinese POS. Love it, but there was a class action lawsuit that stated it does not have the quoted horsepower because the proper instruments weren't used during the manufacturing process.
