Before blending, make sure the pitcher is securely connecting to the motor (no weird diagonal wiggles), and put pressure on the lid while you are blending. I have a feeling that most breaks have been caused by strong torquing that wiggles to pitcher at a bad angle and cracks the plastic where the blades spin. Never buy a KitchenAid Blender. The pitcher fails not long after you begin crushing ice, EVEN WHEN you use the crush ice setting. So disappointing from a fine brand. Fit our blender and works well. Just what I was hoping. Glad we didn't have to replace the whole blender! Old jar wore out. This is the second jar I have purchased. Call KitchenAid directly at (800) 541-6390 with your model # and serial # if you have a problem with your pitcher. They sent me a new one at no charge. So glad this if offered. I have gone through two of these pitchers from the Kitchenaid company. Glad this is available.The only issue I have is that the pitcher wears out. We use it every day, and it has about 400 uses in it.
