Functional replacement for original part I was surprised to find this to be a 3D printed part when I received it. It may seem inadequate at first, but it's printed with a 100% infill and feels very solid. Definitely some engineering went into the design of this product as a form-fit-function replacement for the original part. I had to give it several good whacks with a rubber mallet to get it into the roller, and so far it seems to work just fine. Time will tell how long it'll work versus the original nylon/brass part. The original part we had lasted maybe 3 years before breaking from getting twisted. Back from the junk pile I was cleaning my the pasta roller, as I have done numerous times, with the machine running at low speed. I was distracted for a moment, and I heard a low pitched snap. I immediately turned off the machine. $100 down the drain. I disassembled the unit to find a broken shaft. I searched kitchen aid for a parts list and found none. I then googled my problem and found the replacement coupling.
