One of the best blender I have owned It was in perfect condition and works very well. I'm very pleased, so thank you so much! Wonderful relatively inexpensive blender. See and discover other items: blenders that crush ice, best small blender for smoothiesLearn the Basics about Blending With some blender brands, you need to stop and stir ingredients as you blend because a condition called cavition has occurred, causing the food to stop moving.  To prevent this, Hamilton Beach® blenders are equipped with the Wave~ Action® System, which pulls ingredients down into the blades as you blend for smooth results without ice chunks. Smoothie stores are around almost every corner, but it’s easy (and less expensive) to blend your own. Test Kitchen Tip: To make a smoothie, add juice or milk to the 8 ounce measurement line on the jar.
Add yogurt up to the 12 ounce line. Add fresh or frozen fruit up to the 16 ounce line. If your recipe calls for liquid and ice cubes, always add the liquid first, then follow by adding the ice cubes. Ensure that the ice cubes are separated.Test Kitchen Tip: Remember the key blending phrases “float your solids” and “cover the blades” and you can’t go wrong. When only crushed ice is desired, add 1 cup (250 ml) of ice cubes to jar, place lid on jar, then pulse, allowing the blades to come to a complete stop between pulses. Continue until ice is crushed to the desired consistency. Test Kitchen Tip: For the best results, always crush ice immediately after removing it from the freezer. Pulse is often sufficient for many blending tasks. Avoid extended operation and don’t run your blender longer than needed. Allow the blender to come to a full stop before changing speed settings. Always leave room for expansion at the top of the jar as you blend, especially when blending thin liquids.
To add foods when blender is operating, remove the filler-cap from the lid and add ingredients through the opening. Vegetables and food items should be cut into small pieces so they can circulate around the blades. For best performance, the minimum amount of liquid needed per recipe is one cup (8 ounces/250ml). Add more liquid if food is not blending properly. If blending action stops during blending or ingredients stick to the sides of the jar, there may not be enough liquid in the jar to blend effectively. Do not try to mash potatoes, mix stiff dough, whip egg whites, grind raw meat, or extract juices from fruits and vegetables. The blender is not made to perform these tasks. Do not store food or liquids in the blender jar. Avoid bumping or dropping the blender. What can you blend besides drinks and liquids?Expand your blending repertoire with these kitchen-tested Blending Tips: Cookie or Cracker Crumbs Break cookies or crackers into pieces and put in blender jar. Remove jar from base and shake to redistribute pieces. Place jar on base and Pulse a few more times. Chopped Vegetables You can blend cabbage, carrots, onion, green pepper, or potatoes. To do it, place 2 cups (500 ml) of chunks in blender jar. Cover with water, Pulse until desired chopped consistency is reached. Pour into colander to drain off water. Parmesan Cheese Cut cheese into half-inch (1 cm) chunks and place in blender jar. Process until desired consistency is reached.
