Prob good to make a smoothie or mixed drinks but nothing thicker. I broke my wrist and this is not as heavy as a mixer. This thing is great. This can replace quite a few other kitchen devices (hand mixer, blender....) and it takes up way less room. The power of this is pretty amazing. Have used it once since I got it yesterday and it was great- easy to use and clean. It worked for about a week then broke loose the blade welding...the motor never got hot or smoked, so that says a lot about the motor. I realized my error after buying 2 and so have not used it on frozen things like ice, etc. The reason I had 4 was because I burned one up in a foreign country, with an adapter from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, which didn't work as designed. fourth has been working for over a year. Please don't change the design....it is unique to the industry, where the material flows through the head so easily and quickly, way better than any of the competition. And that's just it....these guys have the market design other brands are trying to surpass, but can't so far. keep it up and DON"T change THE design, PLEASE!!!!
