Smoothies do take a little longer if you use a lot of frozen fruit and ice. This blender is powerful and fairly effective (it dislikes frozen fruit). Its biggest drawback is the decibel level!

I am very pleased with this appliance. I really do wish I could find more attachments for the chopper though. I use this thing maybe a couple times a month and for a $40 blender it is just fine.. I use the food processor attachment and it works just fine..
