hamilton beach big mouth juice extractor won't turn on

Good for the moneyColor: Black|Package Type: Standard Packaging|I Love the Hamilton Beach 67601A Big Mouth Juice Extractor (Updated)Color: Black|Package Type: Frustration-Free Packaging| You really get bang for your bucks on this model! Package Type: Frustration-Free Packaging|I absolutely love this juicer! I ordered this and then read a majority of the reviews and began to get concerned that maybe I had not made the best selection in a juicer. Just received this juicer yesterday and used it immediately upon arriving home. I could not be happier with this juicer! Very simple assembly required to use, a monkey could figure this out! Many reviews indicated that this juicer was extremely noisy, on the contrary! This juicer was no more noisy than your average high quality blender one might use to make smoothies, salsa, etc. It was actually much quieter than my coffee bean grinder or perhaps a close second. Seriously though people, what do you expect from something that obliterates your fruits and veggies into virtually pulp-less drinkable juice??

I did not find this juicer to be overly noisy at all!I also saw a ton of complaints about veggies and fruit flying out of the big mouth food shoot. Common sense tells anyone with half a brain that the grinder inside is whirling around at quite a significant speed. Why in the heck would you drop food down the shoot while it is running? That is just complete ignorance. I found that I could stuff a great amount of food to the top of the shoot, literally, then held the food pusher on top as I flipped the switch to not be problematic. I honestly believe that it is good to give the juicer that little moment of rest between each load to keep the juicer from overheating, those people who choose not to wait for the grinder basket to stop spinning/power down the juicer between loads is just begging for flying food, their juicer to overheat, and for it to quit working.I also took the advice of several reviewers and used a plastic bag in the pulp waste container. This made for very quick clean up.

Additionally, this thing was an absolute breeze to clean! I highly recommend that you clean it immediately after use. Do not leave it sitting or your will have a problem cleaning it, but honestly the only part I had to scrub was the grinder/screen basket in order to get the pulp residue off the screen. Common sense tells you that the screen basket, again, is spinning a very fast speed sucking all the juice it possibly can from your produce that along with the slight heat of the machine and air will dry that pulp out very quickly so do not waste a moment cleaning it out or your will have a problem.Additionally, I took heed to more reviewer advise and juiced my carrots lastly. The carrots really do clog the screen quickly. I did my carrots in 2 stages, rinsing in between in order to get the most juice possible from those babies. It was really not a big deal to remove the grinder/screen basket (once it stopped spinning) and rinse it with warm water, then replace it back in to the juicer to proceed.

This juicer is very powerful and made a lot more juice than I expected. I plan to use it regularly and I recommend this particular model to anyone looking to juice on a budget! You really get bang for your bucks on this model! Seriously, you do not need to spend $150 - $300 for a juicer unless you are opening a juice bar in the mall! The juice pictured was my first batch consisting of 1 med. golden delicious apple, 1 beet (3" diameter), 2 lg. celery stalks, 1 in. peeled ginger root, 1/2 peeled lemon, 3 cups spinach leaves, and 7 lg. carrots.

walmart black friday ninja pulse blenderI am not over weight and I work out more than the normal individual but I believe in healthy food making a healthy spirit and wanted to add more nutrition to my diet. I use this about once a week and make a lot of juice in one shot because it makes a bit of a mess and cleaning is a little time consuming. A pitcher of juice takes about 30 minutes from start to finish with clean up. It is pretty efficient at removing all the juice in one shot but I usually put the pulp through twice.

I also give the remaining pulp to my pitbulls, fair warning they eat everything healthy if you try with your dogs :) I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a juicer. Yes () No (6) Report Yes () No (6) Verified purchaser I juice almost every morning and for a late nite juice snack. *The only thing that I don't like about it is the cleaning must be very detailed.. If you do not clean it well there can be mold build up / or crusting of food even with a little food left behind. ** Once you brush all of the product off and clean it well make sure you let it dry completely** DO NOT EXPECT TO SEE A LARGE RECIPES BOOKLET WHEN YOU PURCHASE - There are maybe 2 included in the manual book. I personally know my fav fruits and veggies so I have created alot of my own excellent recipes . Yes () No () Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser This juicer is very good. It has 800w motor and really extracts alot of the juice most of the "leftover" pulp is dry. The cleanup is a cinch.

I always line it with a plastic bag. The total time for juicing and cleanup for 16 oz is under 10 mins. I love it and use it daily. Yes () No (3) Report Yes () No (3) Verified purchaser After reading how many positive reviews for this juicer I decided to bite the bullet and purchase it...I wasn't disappointed at all! POSITIVE: It is easy to assemble/dissemble and cleanup once you get a routine down is quite easy (place plastic bag in pulp receptacle it will make it easier to clean). I like the big mouth for smaller softer fruits. With oranges however, you have to make sure you peel and slice it in halves or quarters depending on the size. Compact size is wonderful for my little NY kitchen! NEGATIVE: Even though it isn't commercial grade, there is a lot of pulp left over which could be looked at as a waste of produce money for the little juice that comes out. I find that if you run your fruit and veggies at separate clean times you can reuse the various pulp mixtures to your advantage.

Veggies are good to run through twice, but patience is required for this. Fruit pulp is excellent for future smoothies and the veggie mulch is good for various cooking dishes. Other than the juice/pulp ratio I can't find anything really bad to say about this product. Overall I think this is a perfect juicer for a beginner especially on a tight budget. I have been juicing for 2.5 weeks every day and love it! Hope you get one for your family. Yes () No () Report Yes () No () I bought this product thinking it would be great. I bought 2# bag of grapes and all I got was a little more than half a glass (see pictures). When I finished juicing I saw a lot of juice still in the pulp compartment I got my strainer out and got a lot of juice out of the pulp (the cup with a little juice is what I got out of the "dry" pulp). The full glass you see in the other picture is the total juice I got out of 2 lbs. of grapes 2 apples and 1 pear. Oh yeah, and once you remove the pulp compartment get lots of napkins because there will be juice all over the machine and your counter 'cause the parts were tested to fit properly so you will have to clean up some of your juice off the counter.

Yes (7) No (0) Report Yes (7) No (0) Verified purchaser FYI: the "Consumer Reports" rated a different juicer with "PRO" in the name as model #67650 this one is # 67601. Considering the lower number, this product was considered inferior in the eyes of the OEM. It might not be a major difference in performance, but... I like this juicer but its not the same as one reviewer bragged about. Yes () No () Report Yes () No () First of all, this is a fairly inexpensive juicer. If you don't have wads of extra cash this is a pretty good buy. My only complaints are that the juicer leaks from the sides and literally throws pulp EVERYWHERE! There is a ventilation hole in the pulp bin that will literally throw pieces of vegetables and fruit all over your counters, walls, face and floor. The bin does not fit well on the unit.

Every time I juice it leaks down the sides of the juicer and on the counter. The noise doesn't bother me even slightly. I don't typically juice at the library or talk on the phone when I am doing it. To be honest, complaining about the noise is pretty petty. The machine juices well but some fruits and veggies do seem to still be pretty saturated after juicing. I think it's worth the price and does the job. You can prevent the pulp from flying around if you put a paper towel or napkin over the ventilation hole. There is no way to stop the leaking though. Yes () No (1) Report Yes () No (1) Verified purchaser This is a powerful juicer and was the best value I could find. I'm a picky purchaser and hardly ever buy things impulsively or without investigating a product first. I don't like buying headaches. I've never owned a juicer so I have no context for a comparison. I put stuff into it and it extracts the juice, leaving very dry pulp behind so it appears to do what it claims to do.

I don't find it hard to clean at all. It takes me about 15 seconds to assemble the juicer and about 2 minutes to take it apart and clean it when I'm done. It comes with a brush that does a great job cleaning out the centrifugal screen. I throw mine in the dishwasher on the "rinse only" cycle when I'm done cleaning the screen to make sure all the food is off of the parts and that's it. showing a whole apple about to be dropped into the juicer. I wouldn't drop a whole apple into this thing, though the wide opening would certainly accommodate a smaller apple. I cut up my fruits and vegies first because it will reduce the abuse to the motor and components. I would buy this one again. Yes () No (6) Report Yes () No (6) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I will admit I have never had a juicer before. I saw the movie "Fat, Sick and nearly Dead" and decided I would start "juicing". There are many juicers out there and most of them are much greater price. This one is inexpensive enough to where I felt comfortable "trying" this juice movement thing (I have lost 10 pounds in 6 days).
