When I turn it on I expect the fast start so it's not a surprise. Works great with custards, cookies, and cake mixes.Tried it out to make sure it worked, and electrically - it all works, but I haven't yet used it to make anything. I bought this from Amazon in 2012 which at the time of this writing was 4 years ago. It was a gift for my wife. She used it very little. Really whipped up my cake batter great.! Would purchase as a gift for someone.The mechanical switched ones don't seem to hold up for long.
