kitchenaid blender defektI've made a Smoothie with Raw Rolled Oats, Stick Cinnamon & Raw Cacao Nibs. Again, EVERY ingredient was pulverized! Frozen Fruit & Ice are easily crushed. Instead of an 18-oz cup, two 24-oz cups should've been included. Another 24-oz cup can be purchased for $20+. But, I shouldn't have to spend another $22. The 18-oz cup is collecting dust high up in the cabinet. For this reason, I took off 2-Stars. Interestingly, 23 out of the 30 recipes are for the 24-oz cup. That was a Boomer. Yes () No () Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser I've been through my fair share of blenders on the go. I immediately tried the Nutri Ninja and it's amazing! It actually exceeds my expectations. It does not have an on/off button. This is good because you don't need to leave it on for more than 5 seconds anyway unless you are grinding coffee beans or something harder than maybe 20 seconds. This is a great safety feature as well! I usually blend spinach, kale, fruits and it blends so far and so fine! Comes out very smooth!!! It's so powerful and the blades are not even sharp! Another great safety feature! Just make sure if you pass the "limit line" to smash everything down and ensure the blade is tightened and flush with the sealing. If you place the cover over the cup once your done and want to give it a good shake, make sure you tighten the sip hole with her finger.....the juice comes out a tiny bit if you don't hold tight. The cups are HUGE so make sure when you blend that you blend enough to fill you up!
This product is my favorite and I use it EVERY DAY!! Yes () No () Report Yes () No () I am not a kitchen person. Gadgets, cooking, etc. this was bought hoping to save some money on the smoothies, shakes, and icees my son and husband love as I was about to toss the old blender away. First, this thing takes up less space. Second, it was so easy to use that my nine year old uses it with supervision.Not once has he screwed up the operation. screw the lid close, put in base, twist to lock, and press to activate. No muss, no fuss. I mean it WORKS! We have to use restraint when using this because our other blender required us to turn it on and leave it going for several seconds. this, you press down a few seconds and if your not careful, a smoothie is more like a cup of juice. Fourth, cleanup is easy. I like the book that came with it. Makes you want to truely experiment. I imagine people who want this for a healthier lifestyle would have little room for complaint. It is not using whisper technology, so I suppose don't run it with a sleeping baby in your arms.
For the length of time it would need to run, you have to be looking for fault to complain over the noise. Recipe book is ok and a good starter. The strong motor (900) makes for a bit of a noisy operation but because of the power, ice cubes and frozen fruits grind quickly and effortlessly. It does a pretty good job but didn't chop hard things like carrots to the consistency of a juicer. My brother told me to add ice with the hard vegs and it will pulverize them and it sure did. It did a fine job for a small blender. I make smoothies no problem and now that I know to add ice to harder stuff, I'm sure I'll have no problem.
