Although looking solid and made to last, like you would expect from this type of US brand appliance, besides the heavy glass jug the blender housing is made of plastics. It's been some time since I owned a blender and this is a huge improvement on my previous model. That was a toothless crone compared to this, the Jaws of blending. This is a heavy-duty blender, with a large glass jug that looks and feels sturdy and quality. It looks good out on the kitchen surfaces which not all appliances do. The Oster Beehive blender consists of a clear glass jug and silver grey base unit. It has the appearance of a blender that you might see in a retro american diner. At first glance, I was not particularly impressed with this blender. It looks cheap (despite the glass jug), and not very substantial.
