Last updated: 01 March 2016 We test the latest low- to mid-priced regular benchtop blenders in our CHOICE test kitchen to help you find the best all-round performer. Our blender buying guide helps you decide which type you need, whether it's a regular blender or high-powered superblender (see our super blender reviews if you're after an even more powerful machine that can mill flour or make nut butters), and how we test explains our testing rigour. In our kitchen lab, we conduct a number of tests including chopping carrots, blending a soft food and crushing ice. We also perform additional green smoothie and kale-blending tests to see: which are best at blending a range of ingredients which are easiest to operate and clean. To ensure comparison with previous years we've not yet incorporated kale and smoothie tests results into the performance score. Our interactive comparison tool helps you find out which brands are less noisy, and which are best at performing tough tasks like blending leafy vegetables.
