While I was researching on Amazon's affiliate program, I came to know VigLink. What I understand is that VigLink is congregator of various affiliate programs including Amazon and eBay. It claims to cover 3000 retailers. Basic benefit for the users is that with VigLink, they can access to all these affiliated programs without signing up individual programs. From the sale, VigLink takes 25% while user take 75% so it does take out large amount of pie from already small commission rate. Since VigLink aggregates large number of sale it can get higher commission comparing to if you do it individually. So you may be able to get higher commission rate even after 25% of fee. Amazon affiliate program has banned state from participating the program because of stupid politics. The list of state are keep changing but currently they are Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Rhode Island. Since NC start charging state sales tax on Amazon from Feb 2014, Amazon may allow NC to participate in the program.

As work around some people from banned states participated the program through VigLink. It apparently worked until Amazon asked VigLink to stop users in banned states to participate. So it went back to square one. VigLink have other popular online merchants so it may be good way to wet your feet with affiliate program. That's my reason to try out VigLink. VigLink is text link service. It's not ad placement in website banner or side bar box. It has three products. /products/anywhere] - User manually creates a affiliate link with URL link to the product page by the converted provided by VigLink Anywhere page. Basically it generate short URL with the URL and user's unique key code. This URL can be used in website, email and social media. /products/convert] - Say you have plain link, i.e. non-affiliated program link, to merchant page. VigLink Convert supposed to change it to affiliated link. It also has option to change the merchant according to higher commission rate.

I will test out how it work in this page. /products/insert] - It automatically reads the site and insert link to online merchant page. You have control over turing on or off for the entire domain.
