It has lasted for years and I have had no problems with it. This thing does not hold a charge at all. I've had it for a year, and a few month ago it stopped working. It blends for about 5 seconds the stops. Do not buy this mixer. The battery has held up fine for me, however the smoothie attachment is junk.
