It is loud, but that comes with the 3 HP motor I guess! This Blendtec is so wonderful, and powerful, that it breezes through tough greens, even thistles, like a champ! It will blend just about anything. I left a spoon in it once. It didn't blend it, but it took a number of chunks out of the spoon and bent it before I could get it turned off.I love how I can load up the 96 oz carafe and it will blend it up into a smooth drink.
