Instead you need to select those bones in order to move/rotate/scale the character. This tutorial might help, https://youtu.be/_C3CCz5S75A?t=7m56s (at 7:56) To move the whole character in while in pose mode, select and move that larger platform around his feet. I recognise the need for bringing more in-depth articles and I'm working on a plan for that. More news in the new year! For now, join me to see which articles got the most views and comments this year and what seems to have the interest of the BlenderNation readers the most.
Enjoy, and have a great party tonight! :) #1: Manuel Bastioni Lab turns Blender in a laboratory for 3d humanoids creation. Manuel Bastioni Lab makes it super easy to generate custom rigged humanoid characters.#2: Blender PBR viewport Branch v0.2. The development in Blender is still in an early stage.#3: Blender Add-on : "Animation Joiner". Francois "CoyHot" Grassard Animation Joiner merges different animated objects into one mesh for easier handling.#4: Owen Powell - maps and terrain models. Owen creates gorgeous generated 3D terrains from actual data. This tutorial has been a hit across the internet! (For people who are into maps, I guess ;-)#5: 3D Game Engine for Cycles. Don't confuse this with the rendering engine - Lubos Lenco is working on a node-based interface for the Blender Game Engine.#6: Introduction to using Substance Painter with Blender - Substance Painter has been welcomed by the Blender community this year and I've seen many tutorials about how to use it together with Blender.

Blender is being used more and more for NPR (Non Photo Realistic) projects, and tools like Grease Pencil and this new Cutout Animation Tools add-on really help. The animation feature allows you to upload animated 3D files and have them play on Sketchfab. Uploading animated 3D files isn’t different from uploading regular 3D files. If you need help exporting animation, refer to Exporting, or check your software documentation. In general, you can export your scene as FBX with baked animations (or BLEND for Blender).
However, FBX export options will be different across software. Here are some software-specific tutorials from our community: For more, check out the Animation Forum Thread. If a model has animations, you can see the animation icon in gallery pages: When viewing the model page or embedded model, you will see a timeline and animation menus. For details, see Interface and Options. The animation tools are available in 3D Settings. You cannot edit animations themselves on Sketchfab, but you can edit some animation properties: Here you can set the default cycle mode and playback speed. Choose the default animation by clicking it in the list. The "Play" icon indicates the current selection: Rename or delete an animation from the drop-down menu. Choose Seamless loop if the first and last keyframes should be interpolated: Re-order animations in the list by dragging and dropping: Annotations are compatible with animations. They will stick to and follow the model.
