And it is a nice value for someone just getting started with these type products or if you are upgrading from an old school blender. It does sound like a space shuttle lift off on high speed, however. I have not tried it for chopping food as that doesn't seem sensible considering the food processor sitting next... The blender has a cool design of blades that gets through your whole blender of stuff, which is much different than any other blender (even the high-end ones) that I've seen.
