It is so dangerous – you can easily process/puree your finger/hand because safety has not even slightly been

taken into account – the metal, bulged-out buttons are too easy to accidentally press when you're ordinarily holding it, and you have to pull blades on and off with your fingers wrapped around them (imagine doing that

Charming and fun, particularly when you’re making a coulis, jam, etc. I love hot sticky splashes that burn your skin slowly butI always wanted pink freckles (not). All one piece, top-heavy, solid. Because that has been taken away, for washing! Don't get me wrong - I still love kitchen appliances. All of them, even the impractical ones. Ultimately, I don't necessarily expect an appliance to perform miracles. I just wish companies would be more honest and realistic about what their products will actually do. Overall, I'm much happier with the Braun, and could have saved myself a lot of money from the outset with the bonus of a more functional device.. Now - don't get me started on the mystique/practicality of the Vitamix... Of course, the evening after I wrote this only semi-literate rant, I was making Dreena Burton's excellent Thai Chickpea Almond Curry.

As I was doing it, I had to open a giant new container of nut butter. And you know how the oil is always at the top, and it's not mixed through well? Easy, I thought, as I grabbed my Braun and attempted to blend the peanut butter back into a consistent mix. It turned out that it wasn't quite that easy. The Braun really struggled, and didn't really mix it well, whereas the Bamix would have not had the slightest problem performing this task quickly, and consistently. So, the Universe has a sense of humour. Even if I don't. GOOD THING I HAVEN'T GIVEN AWAY THE BAMIX YET, RIGHT?! So, of course, after about 5 uses, the Braun stick-blender has completely died, and won't charge, or hold charge. I guess it's now time to return it and consider another brand. Just to prove I never learn - I'm now considering a Dyson vacuum...As well as being one of the best in the world, the Bamix stick blender also has the distinction of being the first hand blender ever produced. chopping, blending and even crushing ice is all in a day’s work for this amazing tool. Mine is 20 years old and still going. It has always been handy to use (I get put off getting out contraptions that will take ages to clean and pack up.) I love the grinder which I frequently use to grind dried chick peas, rolled oats or biscuits. I love the wand design which will fit into a can of tomatoes. My mill has got a bit of rust, and the thread of the plastic lid has broken so I have to hold it down. Also my blades got a bit loose over time and would fall off - my husband squeezed them tighter with pliers to fix that. The only thing it doesn't do is whip egg whites for pavlova. 10 people found this helpful, do you? Build quality that's extremely rare these days. Made In Switzerland not China. Well designed, the handgrip is comfortable and ergonomic and the footprint of the stand is tiny yet it's not tippy at all. Very quiet and low vibration which is important if you need to use it at ungodly hours. 5yr warranty, important as most products these days aren't made to outlast the warranty.

When you consider a Bamix will last you 5-10yrs min, you are only paying $25-$50 per year of use which is half the price of a cheap mixer. Curly telephone style cord, I'm amazed more appliances don't have these because it keeps the cord out of your work and does away with any need for a cord storage spot on the stand. You have to find a specialist supplier to buy it. Only the high-end kitchen shops have it and you may need to mail order it. Not well known anymore which leads a lot of people to think it's simply an overpriced product, a bit more marketing could help it a lot. 20 people found this helpful, do you? I work at London and American Stores in Melbourne and we started stocking Bamix because people asked for it by name. I have not had a single one returned!
