Service and Repair (3)We love kitchen gadgets, but we often find there’s not a huge amount of innovation or new ideas out there. So, when something comes along with a bit of a twist that makes life easier, we’re all ears! The Philips Avent Steamer Blender is just such a device; it’s all you need to whip up your own babyfood at home. Click Here for 26% Off at Amazon.co.uk There are several advantages to making your own baby food at home. First and foremost, you’ll know exactly what’s in it, meaning you can make sure your little ones get the healthiest and most nutritious meals possible. Second, what with baby food being so expensive, you’ll no doubt save yourself a bit of money in the process (more on that later).
The Philips Avent Steamer Blender both steams and blends your ingredients into nutritious baby food. You simply add your ingredients, set the dial to steam, wait for the signal, then flip the container upside down and hit the blend button! The fact that the same container is both steamer and blender is not only ingenious but practical; it saves space by incorporating both functions into one compact device, and also saves you washing up time (since you don’t have to wash up all those pots and pans)! The Avent Steamer Blender can prepare meals of veg, fish, meat or pulses and it comes with an age-appropriate recipe book to get you started. In the book you’ll find all sorts of recipes from sweet potato and carrot puree, to pasta with Bolognese sauce. Recipes are helpfully split into separate sections for each stage of weaning. One of the great things about this all-in-one approach, is that the food retains a lot of nutrients that would otherwise be lost. This is because the liquids from steaming are retained inside the container, and are then blended into the food.
The container is also 100% BPA Free, so you can be confident that no nasties are getting into the food too, only goodness. All the bits are dishwasher safe and easy to clean, and there is a safety lock system so that you can’t turn the machine on until everything is safely locked into place.breville bbl605xl tritan hemisphere blender We found that most blenders were cheapest at Amazon.co.uk, including the Philips Avent SCF870/21 which is currently available for 26% off.breville kinetix blender bbl605 nz Clever all-in-one baby food maker – steam, flip container, blend!braun multiquick 5 hand blender price pakistan Saves space – no need to separate blender and steamering equipmentcuisinart quikprep hand blender csb 33

Over 96% of customers were happy with their purchase, with around 95% awarding the Philips Avent Steamer Blender top marks of 4 or 5 stars. Let’s take a look at what people have been saying. The seemed to be two types of parent leaving their comments; those who had never made baby food at home, and those who were already making their own baby food but looking for simpler way to do it. Both loved this machine! Almost everyone liked the compact design. Obviously, this blender is going to get a lot of use, so you’re probably going to want to leave it out on the worktop full time. The fact that this is both steamer and blender in one saves you space in itself, but the machine has a fairly compact design which shouldn’t clutter up your kitchen too much. People found the machine quick and easy to use too. First of all you chop your ingredients and throw them into the container, adding water into the steamer compartment at the back. Next, turn on the steamer and the machine will beep to indicate when the food is fully cooked.
Finally, turn the container upside down and switch the button to blend. Depending on the consistency that you want, the food will be blended in 10 to 20 seconds. Parents said that the Philips SCF870 steamed food well, and blended efficiently too. The blender function has a pulse switch which can be used to blend in short bursts. This means that you can get the consistency that is necessary depending on what stage of weaning your child is at. You can puree the food completely, or leave chunks depending what you baby needs. Customers found the steamer blender very easy to clean too. It’s dishwasher safe, however if you’re using the good old washing up bowl it’s quick and easy too; there are just 4 bits to clean; the container, lid, blade and spatula. The device is good quality and works well, but parents most liked the fact that they could control exactly what their kids were eating. With the freshest ingredients possible, and the efficient cooking process, the food is nutritious and delicious!
Not only were the babies winning with this machine, but so were the parents! Making your own baby food saves you money. One customer calculated that they were saving over £40 a month by making baby food instead of buying it, which no doubt came in handy for clothes, nappies or toys! So was there anything that people didn’t like about the Philips Avent Steamer Blender? There’s nothing serious to report. One minor inconvenience is that the steamer will require descaling from time to time; something that can’t really be avoided. It’s not a particularly big task though, it should take around 15 minutes. Another thing that was mentioned a few times, more of a wish than a complaint, was that the machine is quite compact and doesn’t allow you to make baby food in large quantities for freezing. Whilst we agree that this would be convenient, Philips have gone for compact and easy to store here; a bigger device would have somewhat defeated the object! Still, the machine can whip up enough food for 3 to 4 meals in one go.
